Analysis and Synthesis of InterviewsDespite their seemingly opposite viewpoints, both interviewees shared many views. Both groups expressed a strong sense of groups present within their community. For instance, in law enforcement many bureaus of prosecutors only surround themselves with others of the same bureau when conversing. This is the same as how the black rights activists split up by specific cause (brutality, mass incarceration, etc) when conversing and doing work. Both cultures are dominated by small sub-groups. Moreover, both cultures have a very serious attitude to them. Law enforcement has a serious vibe to them because the believe their work to be important since their protecting citizens from crime. Similarly, black rights activists have no room for levity because they believe their work protects other African Americans from injustice. Both cultures have a serious attitude for essentially the same reason. Each culture considers their work a justice against injustice. Despite being seemingly opposite sides law enforcement and black rights activism have very similar cultures.

The only difference between both these groups is how they view the media. However, this difference is really a similarity. Naturally each side tends to favor towards their respective side when news comes in the media. Yet, both interviewees stressed how viewing the news in hard for them. The ADA has a desire to favor law enforcement, but at the same time he wants to help against justice. I would imagine that since ADA is a paid job, the interviewee feels sympathy for the police since they are also paid law enforcement. In contrast, volunteers in the black rights movement are volunteering their time and receiving no pay. They can't relate to stress of being paid to make hard decisions under pressure. The black rights activist that was interviewed tends to blame police officers, but she attempts to observe the whole situation and make an educated opinion. Both cultures do not act without first thinking. This is very powerful because it shows both cultures are very thoughtful. Maybe if these cultures could see how similar they are, they'd have an easier time solving today's problems.
